Paint Over Graffiti (P.O.G.)
The
Paint Over Graffiti program is a service facilitated by Spokane C.O.P.S.
when there is a need for covering up or removing graffiti at a location that is not
getting removed by using the standard process. The victim or property
owner is asked to sign a release form that
gives permission for a P.O.G. volunteer to cover the graffiti for
them. Then the graffiti volunteer contacts the P.O.G. Coordinator with
the necessary information for the P.O.G. team to initiate the process for
cover up or removal.
P.O.G. coordinates with other volunteer groups such as Juvenile
Justice Court, citizen groups, Spokane Public Schools and local college
internship programs to do the actual cover up and/or removal.
C.O.P.S. volunteers may also assist P.O.G. on special projects
if they receive training by the P.O.G. Coordinator. P.O.G.
does offer suggestions for cover up or removal. However, for professional service, citizens are advised to contact their own
contractor or service. |
