About Us
C.O.P.S. Northwest has
proudly served our neighborhood since 1994. Together with our
Neighborhood Resource Officer, we plan to take an even bigger bite out of crime in
the next year. Our CCO is Kristi Kuntz.
We have a very busy Block
Watch and McGruff House program representing families in the Balboa, Sundance, Shadle,
North Hill, Indian Trail, as well as the Northwest, Westgate, and Windriver neighborhoods.
As we do every year, we brought the New Year in with our
traditional annual "SPD" Chili Feed. We are gearing up with new
goals and volunteer incentives. Join us for our general meeting on
the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
C.O.P.S. Northwest Objectives:
-
Substantial reduction of crime in
the neighborhood
-
Development of an ongoing
collaborative training and education program which will increase the
capacity and commitment of the community to help provide security
and prevent crime in the neighborhood
-
Build and maintain effective
communication and community relations between police and community
-
Educate the community about and
support the enforcement of municipal ordinances governing junk and
disabled cars, abandoned housing and illicit dumping of garbage
-
Provide and promote comprehensive
safety and drug awareness programs in the community
-
Promote the necessity for
individuals and collective community responsibility for the
promotion of lawful and beneficial goals to the community
Services
Community Oriented
Policing Services will be provided to the neighborhood, through the use
of Spokane Police Department personnel and volunteers who live, work,
own a business or property in, or have special community
service-oriented relationships with the neighborhood, or have a vested
interest in the community. The
intent is to train, educate, and empower the community to assume primary
responsibility for those conditions in the neighborhood which provide
security or have the potential to result in crime.
The training and
education involves the networking and collaboration with neighborhood
and community services providers. These services include family
skills training, dispute resolution and mediation services, and other
related services designed to increase awareness and promote personal
responsibility for family and neighborhood goals.
Our hours of operation
