Spokane C.O.P.S. foremost program is the Front
Desk. Equipped with a telephone, radio scanner, computer, the Internet,
e-mail, databases and resource booklets, the average volunteer has all manner of
resources to assist members of the community with their concerns. Whether
it's an abandoned vehicle, lost and found, barking dogs, or nuisance issues, our
volunteers feel confident they can help. The
Spokane Police Department
and the Department of Corrections greatly appreciate
the volunteers who take calls from citizens and readily admit that they rely
heavily on the work performed by C.O.P.S. volunteers.

Business conducted at
the Front Desk includes filling out communication forms, making entries in the
statistics book, daily diary and filling out phone messages. Volunteers
maintain the book containing all level II and III registered sex offenders in
the city. If you get into a fender-bender, they can give you a
Washington
State Vehicle Collision Report form. If you call or walk in with a problem
or question, they usually have the answer. If they cannot find the answer
right away, they will research the situation and call you back.
