Front Desk Operations
Spokane C.O.P.S. foremost program is the Front Desk. Equipped with a telephone, radio scanner, computer, the Internet, e-mail, databases and resource booklets, the average volunteer has all manner of resources to assist members of the community with their concerns. Whether it’s an abandoned vehicle, lost and found, barking dogs, or nuisance issues, our volunteers feel confident they can help.
The Spokane Police Department and the Department of Corrections greatly appreciate the volunteers who take calls from citizens and readily admit that they rely heavily on the work performed by C.O.P.S. volunteers.
Business conducted at the Front Desk includes fielding phone and walk-in traffic, filling out communication forms, statistics book, daily diary, filling out phone messages, data entry, on-line resourcing, email, possible assistance to assigned Neighborhood Resource Officer and/or Dept. of Corrections Officers.
If you call or walk in with a problem or question, the volunteers will provide the proper resource or will research the situation and call complainant back.
